How it started
Katie here! The summer before my sophomore year, something awful happened...the Harry Potter series ended. Convinced I wouldn't be able to fall in love with another story as much as HP, I decided to write my own adventure to try and recreate my passion for books. M.A.J.I.C. and the Oracle at Delphi is the result of that decision. I started writing in December 2007, and it took six months to finish the manuscript. I averaged 2,500 words a weekend with a final 40,000 word push in June. After editing the manuscript and losing a couple of novel contests, I sent out 40-50 letters to literary agents seeking representation. I was lucky to sign with Robert Thixton of Pinder Lane & Garon-Brookes Associates in New York during my senior year! Now, five years after beginning my adventure, I am ready to publish the first installment of the M.A.J.I.C. trilogy. I currently have a rough draft complete of the second novel (there's a lot that needs to be rewritten), and have completed more than half of the third book.
Whether you're a guardian, an oracle or a mortal, I would love to share M.A.J.I.C with you. Should you choose to embark on the quest with Melanie, Alice, Jenn, Izzy and Colleen, let me know what you think!
Sixteen-year-old Alice Payton and her four best friends are all that stand between the universe and its greatest threat. After centuries of captivity, the Titans have escaped from the underworld and returned to Earth seeking vengeance. Bound by an ancient curse that prevents them from defending the planet, Zeus and the Olympians send their powers to the only beings who can help: Alice and her friends.
With the guidance of the Olympians, Melanie, Alice, Jenn, Izzy and Colleen embark on dangerous journeys through the dimensions of the universe, encountering mythical creatures and legendary lands. Equipped with bravery, wit, and the magic of the gods, they will discover the ancient secrets that hold the keys to defeating the Titans once and for all.
