How it started
Katie here! The summer before my sophomore year of high school in 2007, something awful happened...the Harry Potter series ended. Convinced I wouldn't be able to fall in love with another story as much as HP, I decided to write my own adventure to try and recreate my passion for books. M.A.J.I.C. and the Oracle at Delphi is the result of that decision. In 2013 as a junior at the University of Notre Dame, I released a self-published draft of M.A.J.I.C. Since self-publishing, I've written a new draft of the story based on a critique of the editor who discovered the Twilight Series, Genevieve Gagne-Hawes.
My goal is to find an agent and editor who believe in my vision to create a world of superhero teenage girls that empower young readers. It's a dream 13 years in the making! I can't wait to take it to the next level.
Sixteen-year-old Alice Payton and her four best friends are all that stand between the universe and its greatest threat. After centuries of captivity, the Titans have escaped from the underworld and returned to Earth seeking vengeance. Bound by an ancient curse that prevents them from defending the planet, Zeus and the Olympians send their powers to the only beings who can help: Alice and her friends.
With the guidance of the Olympians, Melanie, Alice, Jenn, Izzy and Colleen embark on dangerous journeys through the dimensions of the universe, encountering mythical creatures and legendary lands. Equipped with bravery, wit, and the magic of the gods, they will discover the ancient secrets that hold the keys to defeating the Titans once and for all.
